Here are four reasons why we may charge more than your dental plan pays.
1) The fee guide is only a guide. The guide is based on the average time it takes the average dentist to treat the average patient and run an average practice in an average town. Any variation may affect your dentist's final fee.
2) All dental plans are different. Your dental plan may require you to pay a percentage of the cost or a one time deductible. Or your plan might calculate the reimbursement on the basis of an earlier year's fee guide.
3) Most plans have a limit. Anything over a set annual amount, you will have to pay.
4) Your plan may not cover the specialist fee guide. Because of the additional skill and training required, these guides are almost 20% higher than the fee guide for general practitioners. Please ask us if you have any questions.
