Widely-spaced primary teeth are beneficial for several reasons

Posted: 04/02/15

Widely-spaced primary teeth are beneficial for several reasons. First, because primary teeth hold space for permanent teeth. Gaps between the smaller baby teeth help ensure space for the larger teeth to come through properly. Second, space between your child's teeth make it easier to clean all tooth surfaces, which helps prevent decay. So if your baby has a gap toothed grin, enjoy it! And talk to us today if you have any concerns.

When do baby teeth start to come out? Children generally lose their first teeth, the lower central incisors, around age 6. The upper central incisors are usually next, followed by the lateral incisors between 6 and 7. The canines, first and second molars are normally lost between the age of 10 and 12. For more information, talk to us today.
