Why is fluoride important?
Fluoride is important because it interrupts the formation of enamel-eating acid in your mouth. When given to children, fluoride becomes part of the tooth enamel and acts as a defense against cavities. Tooth decay is significantly reduced when drinking water contains the proper amount of fluoride. If fluoride is not added to your water supply, supplements are available from your pharmacist.
