Dr. Shafiei Graduated from Dalhousie in Halifax. When he visited Collingwood, the decision to move his family to live and work in here became an easy one. Dr. Shafiei loved the people in the community and, of course, the beautiful setting.

As a General Practitioner, Dr. Shafiei is able to perform most treatments; however, his favorite area of work is in Sedation, Oral Surgery, Root Canal Therapy, and Prosthetic treatments.

Dr.Shafiei has been working for patients (in Dentistry and in Anesthesia) since 1990. His second Degree was in Anesthesia (from back home) and had sedated patients only at Hospitals settings for about 7 years continuously. After taking over his practice in 2011, he noticed that some of the patients had anxiety to see a Dentist, so he decided to bring all those years of expertise and knowledge in Sedation to Collingwood.

Dr. Shafiei started to offer different types of in-office Sedations (Deep, IV) as alternatives to help the anxious patients relax for dental treatment. As before there were no such Sedation facilities in any Dental Practices in Collingwood and those patients in need referred to Cities for treatment. So it’s saved a lot of time and several trips for patients who have needed such services.

Regardless of any accomplishments, it is always a humbling experience to realize that the more we study and learn, the more we realize how little we know. We have to be content with giving our best and continue to persevere in our ongoing quest for better solutions for our patients’ needs and wants.

Dr. Sabernia graduated from the University of Toronto.

Dr. Sabernia is a family-oriented dentist and particularly enjoys treating children. She understands that a child’s first dental visit makes an impression that can last their whole lives. She also enjoys the challenges of Cosmetic Dentistry, Root Canal Therapy and laser therapy.

When her husband, Dr. Shafiei, purchased Hume Street Dental Care, Dr. Sabernia was looking forward to raising her young family in Collingwood where her two daughters will have access to a variety of recreational activities, and grow up in a welcoming and friendly environment.

Dr. Sabernia’s goal is to deliver excellence in dental care through open communication with every patient. She strives to ease the nerves of fearful patients with a kind and compassionate dental experience.
